Good thing you stiffened the AO code for DMSI. knowing some torrent trackers would bee all over it upon release.

Well they have to run it to be affected.

But... if they pirate it... this will help to encourage pirates to either delete it or pay for it. no perfect solution, but this will help.

AP code: I have bought LTU for my gf, using my account. I just sent her the files. So I *have* those files readily available to me on the IML servers. Actually on my hd too, since I didn't think to delete them. Will future subs be triggered by this? I also have paid for several 5G subs that I have never used and probably never will. In case something like this triggers, would the code still have me breaking out my wallet again, or could I consider it as even somehow?

Btw, good if you're stiffening it up. You do a lot of usefull work and you should be compensated for it.

Is what you did breaking copyright law and therefore illegal?

If it is... pay for it, un-do it, or delete it. Correct your actions.

Giving it as a gift is not illegal. But buying one copy and retaining copies for yourself and someone else breaks copyright law. One purchase, one owner.

If it were not for people pirating my subs and never paying for them, I would probably be making 2-3 times what I make right now. Time to change that.

Maybe a thread for asking AP questions is in order. Even a FAQ section later on, covering most aspects of what triggers the code. I have few situations that I'm not sure about as well.

- I bought a copy of E2 for my mother, she stores it on a PC that my father also uses occasionally. (not to play subliminals)
- The sub itself is played on a stereo system in the living room 24/7, so my father does get exposed daily, including when my mom isn't home. (she would definitely forget to turn on the stereo system every time she gets home)

Any of that breaking AP code, Shannon? Thanks! Looking forward to DMSI V3.

So basically, I purchased MIR for my mother a while back and she was using it for a gum infection (MIR 1), she pretty much has zero knowledge regarding how to download copy on player etc so I did the whole process for her and I am keeping a copy just in case she ever needs it, zero intention of pirating or using for myself, purely for as and when she requires the sub. I'm not triggering anything here am I ?

"I am keeping a copy in case she ever needs it" is not legal. Putting a copy on a CD or USB key and giving it to her, that's legal.

I don't like to imagine any negative programming in subs - inadvertent misuse could lead to horrible consequences (e.g. you leave your copy running silently, some innocent friend who visits you has AP code triggered... and never gets laid again!! Confused

It's not negative programming. You don't need to worry. Innocent friends listening are not committing piracy or breaking the law.

Just for clarification, will DMSI 3.0.1A be linked after it's finished uploading for the users who already purchased it?

Or does everybody have to wait until version B is uploaded and the new page is up for the new customers?

When I finish writing the legal disclaimer... we can put up the sales page with A linked. People can then download after agreeing to the legal stuff and purchase it if they haven't already.

I have to finish writing the legal stuff first, and I am understandably too tired after all that. So... when I wake up. It won't be done uploading by that point anyway.
