Not sure where DMSI slots in with product development, as you've only recently said you may have found a solution for the FRM-affected problem. So my post's intent will be influenced by that.
However, my reason for posting mainly, is to tell you I'm the first in line to offer you another purchase of OF in 5.75.6G if DMSI is still far off for whatever reason. I'm SURE others would co-sign, especially seeing as this virus problem seems to have no short-term end in sight now anyway. Might as well make use of the time with a foundation-building sub to prepare for when our governments all finally get our act together. Who knows when THAT will be...lmao...
I have plans to work on DMSI and UMSv2 when this is finished. I will also be building something special for you guys, something I happened across in my modeling experiments by accident that I know for sure I can build in a short amount of time, and which will very much intrigue a lot of you.
The thing with DMSI is that it's going to take a while to re-base because the skeleton script has changed so much since it was last built. I don't know exactly how long that will take. Could be a few days, could be a few weeks.
The approach I have to take to the FRM externalization, I don't know how long it will take to do, but I'm thinking it will not be too terribly long. Maybe 2-3 weeks.
But I'm getting really frustrated at having to put off DMSI for so long. For a long time, I just didn't want to work on it, was sick of it, didn't know what to do to advance it. But as time has gone on, and I've come to have a solid enough idea of how to build it, I am getting frustrated having to build multiple things at once all the time and put things off that I am not wanting to put off.
OF rebuild is not going to advance us in the right ways. We need to build some of these things that have been lingering. MLS was supposed to take 3 to 7 days, and it's turned into a marathon build. So I'm itching to get work done on DMSI. I finally know how to make it work, according to the models. Just need to develop that externalized FRM, re-base it, bring the scripting up to current standards.
Unfortunately, I don't think I can just work on DMSI until it's finished. But, it will be getting attention very soon, because FINALLY I understand enough to work on it without just re-basing the damned thing in a current skeleton script and adding FRM. It was tempting to do that, but the models consistently told me that wasn't the best option, so that's not what I did. In spite of my frustration, I stuck it out and kept working on figuring out the external FRM. And one night, as I was falling asleep, I had some things click. I don't have the whole answer, but I have enough now that I can figure out the rest by actually working on it. And dammit, I'm tired of waiting to work on this.
UMSv2 also needs attention, and I will be building subs to keep things flowing financially as well. The next one is going to be just as eye opening to you guys as it was to me, I think. Blew me away in the models, but this has passed modeling several times and stands steady in its answer. So... there will be a couple of focus-fire subs coming down the pike that I think you guys will appreciate. Or at least one of them, depending on your priorities. The more unusual one, damn, what I wouldn't give to be able to run it myself.
DMSI 3.3.3 needs to get done. Soon.
