I am done calculating the configuration settings and am now working to build the support script. This shows me in very stark ways that the scripting methods I used to use are not the best approach to scripting for 5.11G. It will work fine in earlier generations, and it will work fine in 6G, but 5.11G, it causes the need for a LOT of support scripting to be generated.
That's not a problem for making the program work for you guys... just makes it more complicated to develop and build on my end.
I have been contemplating some things on how to build 6G and I think I have worked everything out in my head. Going to start working on the first alpha test skeleton script of 6G after I build USLM v5 in 5.11G. This is exciting. It will actually require me to rip out a lot of the scripting required for 5.11G to work, which will make the skeleton scripts much shorter. Then I'll build an alpha test experimental and see if the initial approach to how to do this works, and if it does then I'll optimize and refine it as much as possible and build a beta test experimental and test that too.
Theoretically, it should be much faster and easier to develop the key script proper for the 6G subs, and configure and build them. Every generation has made the scripting required longer and more complex, and the build process more and more intricate and difficult. 6G, if this works, will be the first time I have ever been able to go backwards and make things simpler. Basically, that is possible my doing a significant form of optimization. If it works as intended, it should return the complexity of building these experiences to the days when I was doing 5.0G, while making the subs themselves work significantly better than 5.11G, and be significantly more powerful than 5.11G.
Let us hope this works as intended, because the only other way to achieve that result is going to make 5.11G's complexity look simple by comparison.
Either way, the end result should be a much more powerful and effective experience when 6G comes around, and that can only be a good thing.
