As someone who was talking about the law of thermodynamics, and is also a strong believer of quantum mechanics, all I can say is huh?
Why are you equating that with skepticism, that conversation was just about disproving alpha's comment that if you eat certain kinds of fats it can somehow magically prevent you from gaining weight ever. It had nothing to do with subliminals and whether they work at a quantum level, so once again, huh?
