Sorry you had such a hellish experience. At this rate, getting back to work like normal seems much more relaxing in an odd turn of events.
As it turns out (as will sometimes be the case), what looked like a nightmare turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I only knew what I needed to know to get it covered under warranty because I was at a specific AAA service center before I took the car to Kia, and they told me that it was covered under warranty and what to do, say, expect to get the result that I did.
We don't have any such service centers in my area. So dying there is what got me a new engine for free under warranty, when it would probably have cost me $8k+ otherwise.
My dog is at peace. Poor thing had rotten teeth that were too rotten to pull, and they wanted $400 er tooth to do it. I'm glad she's with her sister and my mother now, but I do miss her and wish I could have seen her off more personally.
