anyway to answer shannon's question: the part of the world where i m from, if i dont find a girl to settle down with myself, my parents will matchmake... trying to avoid that by finding someone on my own and the clock's ticking

I say this with an attitude of respect - perhaps the bigger issue is that you need overcome the external pressures of doing something that you do not actually want to do, nor feel ready to. I feel that it is hugely disrespectful to you for anyone to impose something like that onto you if you are not ready for it, purely for "face" value or because they are trying to appease some kind of "society shaming monster". Basically, society does not really care that much. Also, the parents only care because of "their own" unnecessary shame when gossiping to friends and random people.
