Is it common for you to get TID that far in advance?

 Yes. Its been this  way for well over a year now, at least. OH By the way, the Current TID is definitely and clearly related to OGSF build.
  That Other 'stuff':
I almost didnt respond ,at all, to that "other stuff", I found it ,though very sincere and from a good place, 'off putting',thats putting it mildly, that is in light of the  Marverick comments.- I agree with ALL that you said Shannon, including that it is up to Me and Catman, respectively to decide or not,ect.

I'm not trying to be off-putting or offensive.  I'm not making any judgement at all as to whether you or Catman or anyone else is ready for Maverick.  I'm just trying to point out a logic error that can cause issues.  My apologies if it wasn't well enough expressed in that direction.
