EP, this has happened before in your usage of subs. UMS is still digging up stuff in you, which isn't surprising. UMS is still finding things in myself, though I've been using IML subs since 2017. You're not alone. I read your latest post, saw some reactions, and I thought I'd pass something on which I received (coincidentally) this very hour.
A friend I know who's both successful and quietly unorthodox texted me a story this morning. I'll share it here.
Shake It Off and Step Up
A farmer owned an old mule that fell into a well. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the old well were worth the trouble of saving. He called his neighbors together and told them what had happened and enlisted their services to haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery. Every time a shovel of dirt landed on his back, the mule would shake it off and step up! This he did, shovel load after shovel load. “Shake it off and step up, shake it off and step up. Shake it off and step up!” No matter how painful the shovel loads, or distressing the situation seemed, the old mule just kept right on shaking it off and stepping up! It wasn’t long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the edge of the well!!
Sometimes when we feel pain or fear, we go to the thoughts and feelings most familiar to us. Sometimes, many times in fact, those leanings tend to take us to painful or non-productive ends. I have a question for you.
What do you really want?
We ALL are tempted to take steps backwards when making changes, especially ones affecting our emotional state. We all are. But what do you REALLY want? Look for it. Head that direction, even in small, unnoticeable ways. Do it for YOU. You're worth it.
