Yep. In my experience, having gone through similar experiences as the youngest in my family... once I "manned up" and refused to kowtow to the bullying/manipulative behaviours of each of my family members, in each case it took a few months before we could communicate again.
Every time they came round to knowing that I was/am not willing to accept their abuse. So they learned to treat me with respect. The hardest part was breaking the status quo of quietly accepting their behaviour and them trying their utmost to put me back in my place. The best thing to do with a bully is to call them out.
