Regarding the black hole shield...

When you use it, would it then destroy existing "psychic cords" you have with others, so that after you've finished using it those cords that used to be there are now gone?

The BHS will sever all energy connections in place so long as they are severable.  There is no way to sever your connection to the Source, for example.  But if you have energy ties to someone or something else for any reason, the BHS will sever those ties, even if the person is within your auric space.  The exception would be recalling a thought form or a servitor to yourself before you start the shield, which is standard practice when employing a BHS. 

When you turn it off, the shield will dissolve, and you can recreate those ties if desired.  This will be natural and automatic for things like loved ones.  This automatic severance is necessary to effect the primary goal of the shield, which is to hide you from any and all detection that is non-physical.  The BHS is not going to hide you from sight, or being detected by touch.  But the majority of human to human detection actually comes from subconscious energy interactions.  If your attacker cannot find you, they cannot attack you.  For this to be effective, nobody can be able to find you, because clever attackers will simply find your loved one and trace their connection to you, for example.

This will also sever all connections from vampiric entities or effects that are draining you, anything that may be feeding on you, anyone who may be spying on you or scrying you, anyone who may have tied a thought form or servitor to you, anyone who may be trying to influence you mentally or emotionally, and anyone who may be trying to control you using energy.  Some say it is effective for breaking bindings.  I have not tried to use it to break bindings, so I'm not sure about that one.

In that regard, it is an excellent practice to run this shield on a periodic basis to break any such bonds, known or unknown, and by doing so, you will often be able to detect that they were there (if they were hidden) by the difference in how you feel. 

If any energy bonds are desired that would be severed by this shield, then you know enough in most cases to regenerate those bonds.

For these reasons and others, the Black Hole Shield will only be functional while you are actually listening to the subliminal.  It is neither intended for, or desirable for, long term use.
