The MBTI has greatly influenced my interactions with people also. I'm a type 5 (Enneagram) INTP (MBTI), meaning I suffer from the same thing you do -- complete and total confusion regarding emotional relationships. It's like I feel totally isolated from society, alone even when I'm surrounded by people. I also have a complete distrust of authority and power systems. I'm debating between BASE or Sex Magnet (for the intimacy issues) after I finish AM6.
That being said, in stage 4 of AM6, I began to consciously focus my intuition on reading people's energy and emotional states and combining my perceptions with what I know about that person's type. For example, being an NT, I have a tendency to approach every problem with methodical, hyper-logical precision. SF types, though, aren't looking for that. Especially SF women. Generally, they just want a hug and reassurance that everything's gonna be okay. It's been working out extremely well. I'm thinking the wisdom enhancement in AM6 has something to do with it.
I'd say to just keep at it. If you're an NT or ST (intimacy doesn't come easy to these types), practice makes perfect. You can learn to "fake it" enough to get results.
