You can do the pendulum if you want, however, socializing is 1,000x better than anything passive on top of the sub; keep doing things and change your approach until you get what you want.
Since it is a wife you're looking for, that would be a permanent addition to your life, keep a clear head, date her for a while until you learn everything about her before you make your move, don't just propose because you fell in love, attraction can be treacherous at times for those of us looking for a long-term connection.
