Good luck with AM6 man. We have alot of the same goals, except for the having children one. It will be interesting to see how you go with the program.
Toastmasters is a great place to help with confidence and communication, I just joined again 2 weeks ago. Last time I did it several years ago it helped my confidence and speaking alot.. and it's pretty fun.
