Value, as in, what you get out of it, versus the work I put into it.
I suggest you find yourself some books from the 1940's through 1960's on hypnosis. Specifically, books by Erikson, Bandler, Grinder, Elman. These are not always directly what you're asking for, or easy reading, but this is where you will find a lot of good information.
