It's my understanding that AM work towards making you discover the leader inside yourself, and when you achieved that you can consciously choose on how to express this. I'm wondering if your AM and SM work in the same way, letting you turn the attraction on and off, to your liking?

The attraction is a side effect of AM, and it results from you being low in fear and high in confidence and self direction.  You can't turn it off because you didn't turn it on: it is a reaction someone else has to your confidence and self direction.  So the attraction is their response, and therefore only they can turn it off.  

SM works similarly, but more directly and aggressively.  More in your face and blatantly.  It's now going for a specifically sexual internal energy, energy projection and attitude.  This is more easily turned off, but only subconsciously, and only out of fear.  Otherwise, it simply "is".
