Please make an aura of sexiness sub. It's one of my favourite subs.
Aura of sexiness is DMSI actually. If that what you meant then yea, we been waiting for that update for some time now. I think when it actually gets updated it will be a massive hit. This sub was last updated in 2019.
No it's not DMSI. It would be an AOS 5.something of AOS 4G. I am sure it would work much better than DMSI and a way out for Shannon from the DMSI mess.
Oh ye of little faith.
An aura of sexiness evolved into DMSI because of all the issues we had with AOS. Don't you remember? Besides, projecting an AOS does nothing if the person being affected is too scared to respond.
I know it evolved into DMSI but it got too complicated. The only issue I find with AOS is the leeeeaking and vulnerability. Close those holes and it's good enough for me.
Believe me Shannon I would love to be your biggest fanboy but I do have my doubts.
You think DMSI didn't achieve its goals because it got too complicated, but that's not the case. That is what you concluded based on what information you have available to you and your understanding of it. I can see all of the variables. If that had been the case, we would have gone back to simpler and simpler.
The fact is, it's not yet complex enough, insofar as more complexity equates with more power and more capability to achieve more things at once. That's why this next version will go to FRM 5.0 and add an outward facing FRM on top of upgrading the build to 5.75.7G, which is extremely complex to configure and build.
You also seem to be forgetting that things happen in cycles. Start off simple get more complex. In a lot of cases, you find more challenges as you gain in complexity because the better ability reveals things you couldn't see before, so things appear to be getting worse for a while as you reveal and fix what was simply invisible before. The truth is, it's getting better because these things are being discovered and dealt with. Because it's more complex, which makes it more capable.
The AOS program started off simple, and in its simplicity, it worked to it's capacity, but it wasn't very powerful and what it did, didn't actually accomplish much because others have to be willing to respond to the stimulus, not just be affected by it. Having a girl think you're sexy doesn't accomplish anything unless someone does something about it.
DMSI has gone through all these revisions because I had to figure out, one step at a time, what was standing between the user and the goal. Trying to find a needle in a haystack in the dark isn't far off. And then I realized that I was burning out because no matter what I did it wasn't good enough, which led me to stop work for a while and just develop the technology.
Now we have the technology to do a much better job than we could do before. We can get through fear and the resulting resistance in both the user and the affected much better than before. That was pretty much the last thing standing in the way. So now it's just a matter of having the time to build 3.4.
Rebuilding AOS is spending the time and other resources needed to build a sub on something that is most likely not going to do the job you or anyone else wants it to do. So since time is a resource I can't get back, I'm going to focus on what I conclude is the best use of my time, which is to finish the job I spent years working on.
Depending on how the other aura subs do in this new gen, and if I have time in the future, and so on, I may rebuild AOS in the future. But for now, I have plans to build DMSI 3.4, not AOS.
Also remember that most people want DMSI to be finished - not for us to return to AOS. You may remember that period of time years ago when we were in the 2.x series of DMSI and people started thinking that we were getting worse instead of better and started romanticizing how good v1 was. Then I re-released v1, and that died a quick and unceremonious death, because they could see just how much better the latest versions actually were, unclouded by romantic memories of a past that never actually was.
You guys need to trust in my judgement. I know what I am doing, and when I don't, I start experimenting until I do. If the experiments had showed that I should make things simpler, then I would have. But they didn't. They kept telling me that there were more and more issues that needed to be dealt with and variables that needed to be accounted for. So script to deal with and account for them was created, and complexity grew.
