And, given the lack of results, I bet that your wireless buds kill the subliminal messages (sometimes they do, sometime they don’t, depends on the protocol your particular setup uses, hence the different experiences.)

or, if you absolutely must use earbuds and ultrasonic, then use the ocean surf track to set the volume to a comfortable level and then drop it by an additional notch and use that volume for US.
Would it matter if I cannot hear it (the US) at all?
The question is...
Is there ultrasonic audio being produced by the earbuds? If so, then you're almost certainly going to damage your ears at those volumes using earbuds. If not, then you're listening to silence.
The question of whether you can hear it or not only matters in that sense, because if your earbuds are producing ultrasonic audio, then you can hear it. Even if your conscious mind is unaware of that fact. That is, in fact, how and why ultrasonic subliminals work.
Fab10 brings up a good point also, and using earbuds at those volumes with ultrasonic should be producing horrible tinnitus. That makes me think you may have accidentally been saved by crappy bluetooth compression stripping out the subliminal audio entirely.
You assume my earbuds are wireless but they are actually wired, I guess I should have made that clear.
In that case why did I not develop any tinnitus at all? (Not that I want any!)
These wired earbuds do have a minimum upper frequency of 20khz btw.
Here is what im using specifically:

I thought from what I read that they were wireless. I suppose I misread something.
If they're wired, then it can't be an issue of Bluetooth, of course, which seriously makes me wonder about the lack of tinnitus. Perhaps you're an exceptional individual. But the fact remains that if they are producing sound, those levels will be far too loud. So go back and do as I suggested: play the ocean surf track through them, and adjust it to a volume that is comfortable, where you can hear the quietest areas of the ocean at least faintly. Then lower the volume by one more notch and use that for the ultrasonic, if you must use that format. To use any other format, you don't need that extra last click down.
