Then, with feedback, the 6-stage can be made in 6G.  Perhaps people will execute the single stage so well, the 6-stage won't actually end up being necessary at all.

What I suggested seems to be what a lot of people want (upgraded 1 stage UMS instead of 6 stage) but your idea also makes sense.  Just leave the 6 stage version for when 6g comes out.

Although I would hope the new upgraded 1 stage is more than just putting in the latest tech but Shannon looks at the original script to see where it can be improved and maybe some new things are added from all the suggestions that have been made

I think that it was the plan to postpone multi-stage programs until 6G is reached to avoid having to build them several times.

IDK exactly what justification made LTU be exempt of that guideline...
