From an outsider's perspective imagine this, V1 bought for $114, didnt work, better version available at $600 would you buy it?
Plus as someone else said, it is also a question of perceived value.
I fully agree with the idea of saving money to buy what you cannot afford.That is the best way to do it. No argument there. Let's wait and watch how the story unfolds.
Obviously the producer is free to name his price and the ones who are willing to pay will buy it.
