I always have had problems with procrastinating, and i have ADHD inattentive type(ADD)
In this i was thinking that maybe its not only fear.
But physical. As it is explained by some experts on ADHD.
Studies have found that ADHD is associated with weaker function and structure of prefrontal cortex (PFC)
The prefontal cortex is often associated with procrastinating.
So i was wondering if the overcome procrastinating sub also deals with this physical issue.
I am on OF since the beginning but have not seen much improvement in my procrastinating.
So maybe fear is not the only issue in my case.
The prefrontal cortex being associated with procrastinating means nothing when it comes to determining if the physical is causing it, influencing it, or simply where the associated activity comes from. Studies finding that ADHD correlates to weaker function of the PFC also do not show a correlation between the PFC and procrastination. All we really know is, some of the activity in the brain that happens during procrastination is in the PFC. Given that, what would I be doing in a subliminal to solve a problem I don't even know is there? A lot of people love to blame their choices on genetics or their brain or whatever. Sure, an unusual PFC configuration could influence whether or not you procrastinate and to what degree, but procrastination is still a CHOICE. It's not forced on you. If it was not a choice, then there would be no response to subliminals designed to eliminate it; we would not see active resistance responses. Instead we would see that "nothing happens".
So far all of the evidence I have points to A) procrastination is a choice; B) it is a choice being made and enacted by the irrational brain/mind; and C) it is based on a very high degree of motivation to achieve that procrastination.
And, so far, the only thing I have seen that produces that level of response and resistance always boils down to FEAR. In the case of procrastination, I strongly suspect that it boils down to a fear of losing self control because someone told you what to do.
You are on OF since the beginning, but that's how long now? Out of the 8 months it takes for one run through? Which is designed to untagle and dissolve ALL of your fears? And which may not get to the particular fears necessary to kill your procrastination sooner than later? I would hardly call that result evidence of anything.
