I can tell you that it does not affect my dog, and I know my dog well, I am sure I’d notice if he was uncomfortable. I play hybrid or silent at a medium volume on speakers (medium relative to my ears which are very close.) My speakers are behind my head and much closer to my ears than to my dog’s, so the dog gets a much lower volume than I do.
I remember Shannon once saying that what you should do is observe your dog to make sure he/she is not uncomfortable.
