Shannon has said it won't be a free upgrade, but details past that he hasn't confirmed. Other than it won't be out for a while yet.

Yes, but Shannon has also said UMS2 won't be out for a while yet, and it'll have to be purchased again, not a free upgrade.
It'll probably cost more too, huh? I hope UMSv1 makes me enough dough to be able to afford UMSv2. So far, I think it's helped me make $20.
