Day 58,
My dress pants turned out fine.
Something that I've written in my journal:
- "I do not lose power for expressing interest in things, people, and relationships."
- "I do not lose power for having interests in, and participating in, activities which benefit others, as long as it does not occur at my own expense - I get to choose whether that's the case.
For a while, I've resisting taking part in activities which I believed disproportionately benefited others; going to Walmart, following the cultural trends, paying for a date. It turns out, as long as I'm satisfied with the benefits that I receive from it, I don't need to cut myself off from it just because the ratio of benefiting is something like 40:60 or 30:70 in the favor of Walmart, the media tycoons, or the woman I just took out on a date.
Turns out that the benefits of participating (30 or 40 points) in some lob-sized aspects of society surpass withdrawal from them (0 points). The latter attitude simply smells of faux-boycott.
