Extract from my journal:
‘So first distinguish between the fear that is given for the sake of maintaining the vessel you inhabit, and the fear that is pathological. Second understand Fear is not cleared, nor removed , but integrated and transmuted through the redemptive act of courage.’
So long as there is the unknown there is fear. No fear implies complete safety, complete safety means there is nothing left to explore, nothing left to explore means no reason to exist.
Standing on the border between known and unknown and the act of facing fear gives meaning, exceessive fear and being ill equipped to stand in the face of it is the problem, not fear itself.
