It occurs to me that the submarine is representative of your defense against the immense pressure being exerted on your subconscious by the parts of you cooperating, and they are directly in contact with the "hieroglyphs" of change. If you had your submarine fail, it would be "instant death". I think based on this, we are pretty close to pushing you as far as you can resist.
