Day 44 (Day 14 Side B),
I practiced the first two lessons from my new singing book, I performed today, and I gave a great performance. My upper range singing (what's 'high' for me) was much easier and free-er.
I'm working on relaxing my larynx, and I'm finding that it starts to act up a 4th underneath my break. That means, if I want to increase my range, I have to focus on singing lower notes correctly, and work at the place where my 'good vocal posture' falls apart. It's a lot like lifting lower weights for perfect posture.
I found a good posture that kept my larynx down, and I sang through my break in a light, chesty sound. So this is the definite next step for me. I just need to remember to use breath support while doing it.
I finished the dang Steven Pinker book. It's the last Pinker book I'll need to read. I have
3-4 books left; the fourth, if I choose to read Piaget just to learn about the pre-operational stage of learning.
I also picked up the guitar to practice (I performed with it, of course). I'm out of practice, and so I'll need to bring my skill back.
I intend on going up to my country's capital for Canada Day, and then Montreal the next day for a week of vacation. I intend on busking on the streets to make some money (and lots of it).
