It's intelligent people like you who are the solution. The swastikas and other acts of vandalism are done by complete morons and do in no way represent white people in general. Despite what the media has you believe, every white person I know LOVES minorities. Sincerely. But yeah, there's dumbass racists that live in trailer parks and fuck their cousins. I agree that there's shit that needs to be worked on. One of my best friends is a black guy who has had serious issues at work because the businesses are run by "old white guys". That really sucks. I can't possibly comprehend living in a country where all the Presidents ever and people in positions of power were a race different than mine. I've worked at places where the employees were predominantly minorities. I felt alienated and it helped me to put myself in the shoes of others.
Btw, I live in the South too and my relatives have Confederate flags. Our ancestor fought for the South and was shot and captured. They genuinely have no ill-will towards Black people whatsoever and focus more on heritage. Obviously, you will run into the dipshits who genuinely are racist. But remember, every culture has morons that fuck it up for the rest of us.
