Regarding DMSI, if you play it while you are asleep and you listen to say 3 loops but you accidentally start a few minutes into the next loop, is that ok to switch off and finish the session or has it totally derailed the previous 3 loops?

You can turn it off. Remember, 4 loops came in second place.

Thanks for that. Just one other question. Can the file be turned off after the 80 minute point on the 3rd loop/final loop without having to listen to 20 mins of silence?

Absolutely, turn it off. I do it everyday, unless I'm sleeping. That 20 minutes only matters if you are continuing with another loop after.
