I'm now combining it with carb cycling, low carbs on off days and higher carbs on gym days and an extra meal after the gym with carbs and it's definately working. The girl i've been seeing tells me my arms keep getting bigger, so the people who told me my muscle would waste away doing this were wrong.

I've gone through many different ways of fasting and I was in a good shape after every fast. Some of them I have followed too much to the extreme so I quit after a little while, that's why adjustment to your own style helps. Body starts breaking down muscle after 24h-48h of fasting, the people who told you otherwise haven't done their research. What I love most about living this way is that your mind stays clear and sharp as opposed to eating every 3 hours on the clock. Have you noticed the difference in that area?

But here's a thought I'm having recently (it's in line with being authentic, of course)

The thing is, I CRAVE junk food these days, but I'm eating healthy to "live longer/better" But what's the point? I'm punishing myself, in essence, just for some future that may never come. So, too, with being myself with people. I'm a deplorable sociopath at the core, and I believe people are picking up on that, so I'd better "own it" soon, lest I be discovered as untrustworthy, you know?

But then I'm thinking "ok, but a sociopath won't last long in the social/sales jungle" and so, I guess, I'm doing self-improvement out of fear. Fear that my basic self is someone that will be rejected, by everyone, and will die alone.

This is so profoundly powerful and is becoming a growing theme for me. What do you guys think?

Have you ever seen the two extremes or is it just me?

I think that it's the social programming that makes everyone afraid of showing their true selves. Since childhood most people are told what they should be instead of giving them good feedback on who they are. I highly doubt that you are a sociopath in the core, that would still be another mask that is produced by past trauma, even as seemingly insignificant as rejection.
Maybe give OF or the new EPRHA a shot after you are done with this one.
Wow Natious. I'm actually gonna try the Renegade Diet since you and other people that reviewed it have had some solid results. Currently I'm just eating clean foods. I wanted to try clean eating for a month so I could gauge my results. I've seen some results, but I had better results doing IF a year ago. I'm mainly focusing on burning fat. I gotta give renegade diet a try!

I never tried the 24/48 hour version. I'm liking 16/8 so plan to stick to it.

Hmm, I can't say I have noticed much with my mind being sharper doing this. Maybe I just am not aware of it as i've been doing it for a fair while now.

My grandpa does a 1 month fast every year, I can only imagine how tough that is. He only drinks water during that time. But you would be surprised how great of a shape he's in, he looks like he's barely 40 although he's 60 and more energy than an average 30 year old.

By the way how do you calculate the 16/8? Because the last meal takes about 8 hours to digest and that's when the fasting actually starts.

Another thing I have noticed is that coffee gives me a much bigger boost while I'm fasting.

1 month?! Fucking hell. I don't think i'll try that one. Undecided But sounds like he's doing something right with those results!

I just do it from when I eat my last meal. Usually i'll eat around 6:30pm so then I won't eat until 10:30am the next day. All i'll have is water. I'm not sure where you got the waiting for the meal to digest thing as none of the material i've read has mentioned that.

I treat coffee as part of eating in a way as I have milk in it, I haven't tried it while still fasting.

He doesn't do much else during the fast, mostly just relaxes, reads and watches tv.

I can't remember where I read it, but if you think about it the body can't go into the fasted state if it's still digesting the last big meal. That takes roughly 8 hours. With that you could calculate the actual time you spend being fasted, although I think the general guideline is that whenever you don't eat you fast so it's up to you which way you look at it. Makes more sense to me that fasting starts after everything is digested.

I can say that at least when I learned how to do IF last year, the fasting period was just whenever you stop eating for the day. So if you finish your last meal at 10:00. You would be considered to be fasting at 10:01
I almost fainted today. A few important things to remember is when fasting, drinking water is especially important. I had a few coffees and since coffee dehydrates you like crazy, it can have a sever side effect if enough water isn't consumed.
Today is my 11th day on the Warrior Diet. I am not doing any sport on the side so I try to keep the daily snacks to a minimum. I took some before pictures and if I see some significant differences after 1 or 2 months, I'll post them. Sadly I didn't weigh myself on the first day since I didn't think I'd keep going with it for longer than a few days. I will do so today at a specific time and then again next week.
Damn, hope you're okay man.. just build up to it.

Well i've been doing it for probably like a year now and I can say that it doesn't matter waiting until digestion, it's just from when I eat last. And i've got good results. Results have increased also since doing low carbs on off days and higher carbs on gym days and having carbs after working out.

I'm the same on the scales but noticeably more muscular.
Yeah I'm fine now, just need to pay more attention in the future. Everyone is different and fasting in general is not for everyone just like eating every 3 hours is not for me. I've heard that people get good gains with fasting and they don't require as much protein as someone who eats often needs.
12 days into the warrior diet, I weighed myself at 19:15 - 76.1kg
Sadly the new EPRHA is still not out. As I understood it was supposed to be out like a month ago. Maybe I misunderstood, but enough of that I started running OF 3 days ago. I won't be making a journal, at least not for now. Yesterday I had a very hard time sleeping, I felt like on a verge of a panic attack. Maybe the volume was too high so I turned it down to 1/3 from 2/3. I am using masked at night and ultrasonic during day.
