It may seem subtle, but it's really not. Consider that any change at all is going to put you miles away from where you would have been otherwise in just a year or two, and it's apparent that what may seem subtle in the moment is pretty important. For instance, let's say you get in a boat and set your course due East from Florida in the United States. If you did that, chances are good you'd land ashore in the Western Sahara territory. But of you set your course not at 90 degrees (Due East if we set True North at 0 degrees of a circle), but 95 degrees - just 5 degrees South of Due East, you would more likely land in a different country entirely - most likely Mauritania, or even Cape Verde or what appears to be labeled as Senegal on the map I'm referencing. And set course for 85 degrees instead of 90 and you end up in Morrocco, Spain or Portugal!
5 degrees is barely perceptible in the sense of looking at it with vs without. But it makes that much of a difference! On the visible horizon from where you stand, it would appear to be a couple of milimeters wide. But it almost literally means a world of difference.
So remember that change is multiplied by time. This is known as the Butterfly Effect. What seems to be tiny in the now, is really a hurricane of change in the future - whether or not we can see it as such. The Titanic, as I have said before, did not turn on a dime.
