Why on earth would you want 'control' in a relationship? It should be a mutually beneficial arrangement bringing happiness, connection and personal growth to both people. It doesn't sound like some people have had particularly good relationships....
A relationship should indeed be mutually beneficial but don't kid yourself. If you play a relationship like [insert Disney movie here] tells you to, you're doomed. Men and women compliment each other in various ways and it can be a wonderful thing. But if you're not in control of the relationship then you will lose her mentally, emotionally, maybe even physically. There's way more to this but, contrary to popular belief, we live in a highly feminized society where we are taught to behave in a certain way and expect a certain response from women and then men are surprised, angry, and confused when they get a different outcome, and women are unhappy because what they say they want isn't what they actually want.
Under heaven all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness.
