Shanon this may be true for normal tracks music and audio books but can you really compare your subs to such 'normal audio', just because they cant hear it consciously it doesnt mean it cant be heared by the subconscious,, you quote referes to cd vs mp3 not to lossless format like flac, mp4 (alac) is even smaller and still can be lossless so its just few bites bigger than 320kbit mp3, other subliminal shops already offer theire subs in lossless formats, that does not mean that i dont like your stuff i am just saying, at the end you decide how you run your buisness

Edit: i trust you shanon and did some research 16 bit seems to be enough, but flac would just be nice

I am currently in the process of testing mp3 vs FLAC for effectiveness.There does seem to be a difference, but I cannot yet quantify it.

As for which lossless format I would offer in the end, it would not just be a matter of file size. It would also depend on which one was most readily playable to the majority of my customers. As far as I can tell, ALAC is primarily accessible to Apple customers only. FLAC, on the other hand, would have a wider long term distribution of players, since it is natively supported by Android (which I have personally verified) and is free/open source and patent unencumbered. So far, FLAC is winning the "Which format?" argument because of that.

So far, it appears worth offering FLAC compressed audio. I will continue testing the difference in effectiveness.
