I started walking to get myself fit - about 10kms at first and I used to feel quite tired doing it. After a couple of months, strangers started smiling at me and some even said hello.
I wondered why they were doing this - until I passed a big shop window and realised I had a smile on my face and they were just responding to my improved body language.
When I first started walking, my facial expressions were reflecting me being unfit - and when I got fitter, I began to look like I was enjoying the walk, and my face was happy and contented.
When you smile on the street, people automatically smile back.
