Thanks for all your replies guys. You've helped lay my concerns to rest and I understand what you're saying about how I'll become a better version of "me". You've also given me a different perspective on things, like about posting on-line showing that you don't care about the opinions of others. I'm obviously not at this stage just yet.
I guess I had it in my mind that I might end up turning into one of those alpha males who is loud and obnoxious and who wades into
situations wiping their penis all over it without any concern for others. I'm talking figuratively here of course, but you know the sort
I mean, people who have no respect for other people's boundaries or feelings.
I like to do things in my own time and on my own terms, I'm not someone who likes to always be the center of attention and who has to involve everyone in the things I do. I'd just like to have more confidence, poise and authority with my own way of doing things. I think Shannon mentioned that there are different types of alpha male and perhaps the type I've described above is the stereotypical "jock" type. There tends to be a lot of this sort where I live and I find them very annoying and they get the women of course, but this is probably just down to their confidence.
