Being present is great, enjoying what you're doing instead of just "I have to get to the next thing". Being there when you're out with friends or whatever it is.
But then only living for that without going towards your goals because some 'spiritual guru' told you that goals won't make you happy is just as bad. Not that i'm saying you're doing that but that's the balance that comes to mind.
But it's good you're thinking of ways to bring more of that presence. As it's very noticable to me about how crazy it is for example when I see a group of girls at the beach spending heaps of time just taking photos of each other and posing for some likes on facebook from people they don't really give a fuck about for a little bit of approval.. when they could be doing something revolutionary..
Enjoying the beach.
It is interesting you posted something about balancing. In fact, I have logged in here to report on the same topic.
I have noticed lately that I am currently reconsidering alot of my habits and thinking, Sort of like bringing things into balance. Untying wires of thoughts…
First I want to clarify that, to me, balance means the constant blissful state being, in the background of an extended period of an individual lifestyle or routine.
So to describe better, alot of my recent thoughts are being examined on best course of action to take to achieve balance…. And to my amazement alot have to do with eliminating certain behaviors and habits rather than adding new things.
In the past, I was exposing myself to alot of learning materials, books, youtube vids club this with constant use of social media, I barely had any time for critical thinking.
Focusing on what actually matters. Because maybe thats what creates presence and present moments.
Off to the swimming pool.
