I was wondering this myself, and found the answer recently.
Essentially, sex magnet is going to focus all of that energy on sex. You're choosing to attract many sex partners, not friends. With Woman Magnet, you get to choose whether you sleep with these women individually.

Your general social life is most likely going to most positively affected by AM. After completing another round of AM, WM is going to have a better boost to your social life than SM would, since hanging out with a bevy of beautiful babes is going to increase your perceived value, which attracts all kinds of people to your social circle.
