I think the main thing to consider is what your objectives are. If you are planning on using the Ultrasonic format then speaker quality is important. That doesn't mean expensive, but it does mean a speaker that has the frequency response range of at least up to 20Khz as Shannon advises. This doesn't mean you need to break the bank though as there are plenty of speakers that can achieve this. For me I didn't have any speakers at all apart from one bluetooth speaker (which I know would have not been good) and I also wanted to get a good reasonable set that would play music well too hence I bought some that were more expensive so I could achieve both objectives : Win Win haha.
