First you want to look at the specifications.Quote:The speakers must have an upper frequency response of atleast 20khz and be stereo. Good quality speakers are also going to be best, really cheap speakers such as laptop inbuilt speakers are of low quality and may affect the results.
And you can also use our speaker test http://www.subliminal-shop.com/product/speaker-test/
Thanks Ben, my current speakers are decent quality and passed the speaker test but it wasn’t until last night that I found out that the upper frequency response is only 18Khz. I am very disappointed because I am sure it affected my past listening significantly.
Anyway, I just purchased the Edifier speakers, I understand it’s a good brand and it guarantees 20Khz upper frequency response. I’ll run the speaker test when they arrive tomorrow.
Hey guys how important is the lower end of the frequency response range??
- I'm looking at so many different speaker options in Melbourne but I literally can't seem to find a single speaker that has a lower frequency response range of 20hz, they all start around 60-80hz and the range is usually to 25-40Khz (which is obviously great at the top end of the range).
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers,
Ali
I don’t think it matters because you would be listening to ultrasonic, i.e. the upper range. All starting at 60-80 Hz seems weird though, may I ask what brand you’re looking at?
