BTW., in the spirit of "fuck you, Lacan", I finally had the chance to attend some hot Lacanian action tonight. None of my lovely milf gurus were in attendance, sadly, but it still was fun. "Foxy psychotherapist" is Skyping in to these meetings. I might join up for some more "beginner" classes later in the year, as that Seminar XI thing is hardcore psychoanalysis stuff (i. e. it's way easier to wrap your head around the darn thing if you are a trained psychoanalyst, f. in. if you've read all of the important daddy Freud stuff).
Still, for some reason, I started "firing up" during the meeting. I don't know whether it was DMSI or the DRS, but I noticed the tell-tale increase in bodyheat.
We discussed the chapter on "substitution and repetition", good times, good times. It also goes into detail on the function of trauma as regards the psychic real and the real in general. Also had some fun stuff regarding daddy Freud's pleasure principle as well as his reality principle, and the interaction between the two, what he called "the primal process". Good stuff!
