I have been coming up on ready to settle down in the last few years, and finding ways to meet women who are worth a lifelong investment has not been easy. He is right, pubs and clubs do not have wife material in them, and anyone who wants a worthwhile girlfriend will be hard pressed at best to find her in such an environment as well. I am finding that the best way to meet quality women is to figure out what such a woman is likely to do with her time... and go there.
Yoga is good. Gym can be good. Friends of friends is a very good way to meet quality women, depending on the caliber of friends. If you have a community center, where they have activities for people, see what else is available. Dancing classes are good, fencing classes are good, and so on. Try to figure out what it is she will enjoy doing, and then meet her on that turf.
