The two are not neccasarily different conclusions, false expectations can lead to an unwillingnes to take action or change in ways that could bring intimacy..aka 'I know that..I dont need that..thats not how it works..Im to cool for her/to do that..thats pathetic I dont need that'..I.e false pride in my book.
