The story wasn't too bad.
I do applaud them for their character development, each main character has their own arc with their own lessons to learn (just as in SW 7) but much more apparent in this one. In the original trilogy this was only Luke with Han to a lesser degree and in the prequel this was only Anakin (whose character development was atrocious). So they did well in that department.
Entertainment wise it's pretty solid. I' d re-watch it on this alone.
Imagination was also top notch. Can't add anything in without it being spoilers but very creative in their delivery.
My major gripe was realism.

as an example, Kylo's shitting on Hux all movie,(even physically abusing him) just to coerce him into co-operating and then when Hux gets an opportunity to annihilate Kylo the movie forgets he even exists.
