So many things wrong with it. You can poke a hole in it every 5 minutes in terms of realism.
Was pretty entertaining none the less. They did well to include many of the things that Star Wars fans would have wondered about in the original trilogy.
In short, classic Disney movie. Gets points for being imaginative and entertaining. Loses them for lacking realism (even in a fantasy setting).
Yep, I watched the movie last night. I was on Floor duty at the the theater so i was able to just sit in the theater and watch like 95% of the movie. I am sorely disappointed and I can pretty much confirm I am done with Star Wars. Since I'm a cinema major (even if your not a Cinema major) The script was just horrible. Some of the side stories to the main plot were meaningless. Also still some feminist type stuff going on with the whole Mary Sue Rey thing. The way they tried to explain it was laughable and doesn't fit with what was already established in cannon. Also, another slight feminist thing I noticed as well thought I'm not too sure (not really a spoiler since its something you can only slightly noticed in movie seven but gets more pronounced in movie 8). I noticed that on the "good" side all the top leaders are female and on the "bad" side pretty much all the leaders are male. I didn't notice that until someone pointed that out to me.
Either way, the fact that Disney doesn't know how to handle this franchise, is more interested in money than good story telling, and all this Feminist/SJW stuff keeps on subtly making its ways into these films has pretty much ended this for me. Oh well, will probably just find some other franchise to fall in love with eventually.
