I walked her back to her car, where she asked me to go again with her next week. I said I would, of course. We said goodbye, no hug, and I went back to hunting. Glad I did, because I found probably 3 or 4 more pounds - way more than I'd found up to that point.
I honestly thought the "mushroom hunting" was to get her alone... my bad!!
Haha, no. We all go every year, usually separately.
We bought our house close to a nice lake. It has a lot of wooded area and running trails. The year my son was born, my mother-in-law suggested we try to go hunting for Morel mushrooms - I'd never been before. Now I'm hooked. They're frickin' delicious, and are served in high-end restaurants. I could sell the ones I pick for upwards of $80/lb. But we'd rather eat them, instead.
I've never hunted with my SIL before. She was the one who suggested we do it together (knowing it'd be us alone), not me. She is now trying to set up a second outing. She usually would do this activity with her husband, but he moved away for a new job (which I've talked about in a few different posts).
She'd usually just go by herself. I can't tell you how many times I've found out in the past she driven all the out to the lake from her house and done something without telling any of us, whether it's walking/hiking/kayaking, etc. Suddenly she wants me to go along? And now she wants me to go, again? When she knows where to hunt and is usually totally comfortable going by herself? To me, this is all curious behavior (knowing how she normally is).
