For the most part we're motivated by negativity, survival etc. Making the switch to a more positive frame of mind and not having your self worth dependent on you being or doing something, means you will have to find a new paradigm. To be motivated by doing something for the sake of it's self, or the benefits you want to enjoy, whether it's stimulation of your curiousity, achieving new heights/pushing your own boundaries to see what's possible or whatever...
'I need good grades and to do well at school because others are' or whatever is not gonna work. What every one else does and says is soon not going to matter...what makes you feel alive will.
If you've been on drugs (I was prescribed a range of ADHD meds, and coming off them was rough) then hoonesyly the best approach in my experience is to be obsessive about exercise. it's the natural way to take drugs - endorphins from a good work out feel good and make you clear and stabilise your mood.
again, just my opinion, you can take it or leave it.
Thanks for taking the time to give your advice. It makes perfect sense.
