He's answered this a bunch of times. The correct volume is entirely dependent on the user. Some people interpret a louder voice as trying to control them, so they resist. For them it is much better to use lower volume.
For others, a quiter volume is better. DMSI now has programming to get the user to determine the best volume subconsciously. For instance, I always find myself within 1-2 notches (my sweet spot) since this programming was introduced. But I never thought about it, or tried to make it that way.
