If you're alternative strategy doesn't work, which it wouldn't have, I'm gonna point that out. You implied he should have left her alone saying "it doesn't work" (weak move) and flirt with other girls instead. It's a much stronger move to take her on right there saying something like the examples I came up with. In another situation, your way could have worked better and I would've said so. But do you rather I lie or something?
The way Illumi described the situation is something I can see myself in, been there many times before. When a girl says "has that ever worked for you?" it means one of out two things, a) she's inexperienced and is actually asking "SHOULD that work?" or and this was the case here b) she has some experience and tries to establish whether he's a square or a badass cuz she wasn't completely sure yet.
Btw, I've never heard any pua say flip the script. I heard that phrase from a black guy in Florida who was good with women, it made sense to me at the time.
