I'm having this same problem, Shannon. People keep asking me to do favors for them right in the middle of the day, and when I say I that I hate my day being divided like that (I prefer to work in long bursts), they get offended and insinuate that I'm not doing anything but sitting in a room.
On another note, I know IML's plans must be bigger than one customer, but an MHS that could heal my knees would be an absolute godsend. We're talking about the difference between taking the officer's position and not taking the officer's position. I'm going to start doing some heavy leg extensions starting tomorrow, but we'll see.
You have bad knees and you're going to do heavy leg extensions? I'd say that exercise is contraindicated for knee health. At least start light.
Yeah, that's what I meant. I was typing fast -- I meant "weighted leg extensions," but not necessarily heavy.
The doctor isn't sure that my knees are "bad" for a number of reasons. One, I don't have any loss of power or mobility. Just aching pains. No sharp pains. And, it's around the kneecap (a "patellofemoral" injury). Based on my scans, he believes it's being caused by a muscle imbalance caused by kickboxing. His recommendation is physiotherapy -- starting with leg extensions, seated leg curls and all with light weights.
I've actually been meaning to PM you, because he says I also need to strengthen my hip muscles and I can't find a good routine for that.
To Shannon:
Do you think that the current version of MHS can help with this? If so, I'm thinking of buying it and running it until the new version is out. I remember reading... I think it was K-Train's MHS journal, where he said it helped heal his IBS. I thought the current version was only for cuts and bruises and stuff.
EDIT: For those PMing about surgery -- it's not an option. Not because I don't want to do it. Apparently, it doesn't work with the kind of pain I'm experiencing.
I believe it can help, yes, but of course the newer version will be significantly more powerful.
