I personally have a theory that our conscious minds can filter out almost 100% of the suggestions we receive, even below the threshhold of awareness/hearing(which don't coincide with our current beliefs), so the critical part is really when we are in alpha or theta and it isn't as active. A book I read suggests that Delta is actually not optimal as the suggestions will not be held onto.
I like the concept of subliminals but I think that using true hypnosis where suggestions encounter no resistance is probably the most efficient means of programming in the shortest amount of time. Subs will definitely make an impact over time if you stick with them though.
The conscious mind cannot filter what they do not have access to; therefore, anything that is genuinely subliminal will not be affected by or affectable by the conscious mind except in terms of the way it affects the actions and reactions of the subconscious trying to express itself, which it can override and squelch in some cases.
The state of awareness you are in is only useful for affecting the conscious mind/state, and that will therefore only make a difference in terms of dealing with what the subconscious mind is trying to do or express. Not programming it with subliminals.
Since hypnosis relies on a cooperative conscious awareness, it will typically not work for a conscious mind that would resist/reject the effects of a subliminal anyway. Subliminals are a superior solution in this regard, especially with some of the technologies I have been developing.
True hypnosis, in the sense I meant it, is more like when you are completely focused on a television program and don't notice that your wife is talking to you. This brain state is basically the way people are programmed in general, especially by advertising and such which takes advantage of the 'open door' to ingrain imagery into your subconscious which will affect your buying decisions. I get what you're saying, but I feel like that if the conscious mind was unaware of the subliminals effects, there'd be no active resistance while listening the way a lot of people experience it.
All hypnosis is true hypnosis, and all hypnosis is simply a state of awareness in which the conscious mind is relaxed enough for the subconscious to be accessed while the conscious mind is unable to function concerning its critical faculty.
Completely focused on a television program is a state of hypnosis just the same as what you can achieve through a hypnotist, or using brainwave entrainment. This brain state is basically the way people are more readily and easily programmed while they are conscious of what is being programmed even if they are only conscious in a relaxed or hyperfocused manner.
It actually doesn't take an open door to ingrain imagery into your subconscious, as the subconscious records all five senses from Day 0. However, creating programming for the subconscious must either bypass the conscious mind completely, or bypass it's critical faculty (hypnosis).
I have found in my time as a subliminals producer and researcher that the subconscious is quite capable of resisting based on the personality, volume of the subliminal and how much the script conflicts with current subconscious programming, or how much it triggers fear.
Quote:The subconscious doesn't make judgments (from what I understand), it simply acts as a recorder for whatever is let in by the conscious and then plays it back, meaning that perhaps the conscious is probably being underestimated in general, in terms of how much it can actually comprehend/filter, I however pay good money on the basis of belief that you've created reliable tools for overwhelming those capabilities.
Th subconscious mind, or at least some parts of it, can and do make judgements. It is far more complex and advanced than a simple record and playback machine.
The conscious mind's limits and abilities are very well known to me after 24 years of studying it now. I started in 1992. I can assure you, no mistake has been made as to the limits and capabilities of the conscious vs the subconscious in what you are referring to. I bypass it, and I get it to cooperate, but I don't overwhelm it. You wouldn't be able to function if I was doing that. It is extremely limited.
Hm...Do you believe in different aspects of the self such as the 'Inner child','Higher self',etc., being sentient parts of the subconscious(and superconscious) mind? In that vein of things it would make sense for certain programming to appear threatening or negative to what is beneath the surface. Though to be fair ANY change is seen as threatening by the ego. Makes me wonder if perhaps there's a third part that intermediates between conscious/subconscious.
I've always wondered how you are able to be aware when you're asleep, if for instance someone says your name.
There is no easy way to "map" the subconscious portions of our awareness. I can only make educated assessments based on what I see results wise and how that logically can and cannot be explained.
One of the things my experiments have revealed in no uncertain terms is that every point in our past in terms of "self" still exists within our subconscious. I have done numerous experiments in which the results showed that clearly. I also see that we have part of the subconscious trying to execute while another part tries to resist in some cases, and there are also cases where the conscious mind will try to resist regardless of what the subconscious does.
So I don't have all the answers, but I can say that those things are definitely true.
I do have from good and reliable sources other information, but I cannot ascribe absolute confidence to anything I do not have proof of on my own.
