When it's ready. I never know how long a project will take, because every little thing can be expanded into untold amounts of work. 3.0.1 is going to be a HUGE upgrade from the 2.x series, I have to re-work a lot of stuff, add a lot of stuff and optimize a lot of stuff.
So basically, when I believe it is ready... it will be ready. Not wise to set deadlines, that always leads to problems for me.
I don't understand your question. If going from 2.4 to 3.0.1 is a huge step up, I would presume so...
